Payment for Meals. Your contribution helps support our small, independent nonprofit so that we can continue to serve you. You (or a family member or friend) can make your meal payment by check, cash, or online with a credit card. We invoice once each month for the prior months’ deliveries. If you pay by check or cash, please return it in the envelope provided with your invoice — either by handing it to your deliverer on the next delivery day or putting a stamp on the envelope and dropping it in the mail. Make checks out to “Meals on Wheels”. To pay online by credit card, please click the button below. If you are able to make your payment automatically recurring each month, we won’t need to send you an invoice and you can cancel any time: call us at 301-434-1922 and ask for Toby to discuss your monthly payment level.
Delivery Days. We deliver two meals (one hot and one cold) Monday through Friday between noon and 2:00pm. Health department regulations require us to leave meals with you or another person, or you can make arrangements to drop off meals with a neighbor when you’re not home.
- Cancellations: If you will be away for one or more days, let us know as far in advance as possible by calling us at 301-434-1922. We love getting notice two weeks’ out or more! All cancellations should be received by 5:00pm on the day prior to service. In an emergency, we will accept cancellations made before 8:00am on the day of service. We cannot make changes after 8:00am.
- Holidays: we are CLOSED 7 weekdays each year in honor of holidays. These days are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving + the day after, and Christmas Day. When those days fall on weekends, we will be closed the weekday closest to that date. We are OPEN all other holidays.
- Snow days: we follow Montgomery County Public Schools. If the schools close, we also close for the day. To learn if the schools are closed, click here or check local TV or radio stations for announcements. We will also update our outgoing voicemail message by 9:00am — if the outgoing message does not specify that we are closed, then we are open and we will deliver.
- Late deliveries: Although we do our very best to get meals out promptly, there is sometimes a delay. Know that we are working hard to get your meal to you. If your meal has not arrived by 2:00pm, then give us a call at 301-434-1922.
Your Pantry at Home. Because we do not deliver on weekends, holidays or snow days, please keep some food in your own pantry so that you are not hungry on days that we are closed, including snacks if we are running late. We deliver several shelf-stable meals each year to use on snow days or have on hand for emergencies. If you need additional food for your pantry, please let us know.
Fans and Heaters. Thanks to the generosity of the monthly donors in our “Fan Club,” we are able to purchase fans or heaters for your home to help you stay comfortable. If a fan or heater would help you be more comfortable, please let us know.
