“Thank you for all the delicious food, and all love and care shown by your chef and yourself. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The food has been lovely and it really means a lot to me – it’s a bright spot in my day. Thank you so much!”– a client
By making a donation today, you’re joining a team effort to create a network of support for our neighbors. Our program provides sustenance and more: our daily visits reduce social isolation, allow individuals to remain longer in their homes, reduce emergency room visits, and engage volunteers in meaningful connections. We’re an independent nonprofit charity (not a chapter), recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to us are eligible to be charitable deductions. Our taxpayer identification number (TIN or EIN) is 52-0943628.

Include Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring in your estate plan. Thank you for including us in your future plans! We are honored to have your support in providing delicious, healthy meals delivered to our homebound neighbors. Estate plan gifts may include cash, publicly traded securities, or other types of real or personal property, such as jewelry, artwork, or real estate. There are a number of ways to further our vision of a community without hunger in this way. Here is some recommended language:
- General bequest to give a pre-determined amount: “I hereby give, devise, and bequeath $_________ [or ___% of my estate] to Washington DC Meals on Wheels, Inc., dba Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring, a nonprofit organization located at 6909 Laurel Ave. #5348, Takoma Park, MD 20913-5348, Federal Tax ID #52-0943628, for Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring’s use consistent with their mission.”
If you would like to make a bequest of non-cash property or percentage of an estate, or a gift for a specific project or our endowment, please contact your attorney to determine the appropriate language and the tax consequences for inclusion in your will or other estate planning documents. We want your gift to be used in the best possible way and according to your wishes!
